Good deeds happen with us throughout the year, mainly thanks to you, plasma donors. But our colleagues are also happy to help, and the end of 2024 brought a lot of good deeds across the country.
Shoe boxes were filled in Pilsen and Ústí nad Labem
The Pilsen team joined the Shoebox project and prepared a Christmas gift for a girl and boy aged 13-14 from families in need. “We decided to support older children so that they are not forgotten and helped as well as the little ones,” they revealed.
Colleagues in Ústí nad Labem also decided to fill the boxes, they prepared both practical things and something for fun for a young lady and a boy from families in need.
Such a Santa Claus certainly conjured up a big smile under the Christmas tree.
In Olomouc, instead of buying gifts, they donated to dogs
Colleagues from the Olomouc team decided not to give each other Christmas gifts and instead contribute to a good cause. They set up a money box, threw the money they saved into it and sent it to the Olomouc shelter.
We believe that the gift made our four-legged friends more pleasant and filled their bellies.
In Brno, they supported a colleague in caring for newly entrusted children
In Brno, colleagues united and supported their colleague Hedvika. Read a beautiful story:
Our young colleague Hedvika has been working with us almost from the beginning – first as a receptionist, now you can meet her in the collection room. She and her partner Jakub are raising a daughter Rozárka, but recently they have been given custody of two children from Kuba’s previous relationship, Viktorka and Jiřík (who is stepfather, but they did not want to separate their siblings).
And so Heďa and Kuba became triple parents overnight. They want to give their children maximum love and a functional home, but this is of course mentally and financially demanding. We saw how Heďa lost weight under the weight of worries, she was tired and stressed when babysitting failed and she couldn’t come to her shift. Health problems were added, which resulted in Hedvika’s surgery. In short, life has mixed them a real “turbo must”.
And so we decided to help everyone at least a little. We donated part of the Christmas bonuses to them, and at the Christmas party, the branch manager Soňa handed over a cheque for CZK 15,000 to Hedwig. It was crowned by the manager of the medical section Jana, who increased the total amount by another CZK 10,000, and in the end the total amount collected is CZK 26,000. Together we fulfilled the most beautiful message of Christmas – let’s rejoice that we have donated.
“All I felt was humility, gratitude and the feeling that there is still hope and goodness in the world, which manifests itself whenever one feels that things cannot be more complicated. On behalf of our entire family, we would like to thank all the employees of PLASMA PLACE Brno once again and to all of you who are reading this now, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas full of love, faith and hope,” said Hedvika.
